While each of the solicitors has a solid grounding in all the areas of practice the following outlines a brief background and  their particular areas of interest.

Anne P.M. Daly B.Sc. M.Sc. Solicitor

Anne Daly qualified as a solicitor in 1981 and joined her husband George in the practice. Prior to qualifying, Anne worked in the practice since it’s opening in 1972.

Anne ran the practice as a sole practitioner from 1982 until being joined by her daughter Siobhán in 1993.  Anne is very active in all areas of the practice but has acquired a specialist knowledge in the drafting of Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney and Administration of Estates as well as all Probate matters.  She has also dealt with a number of family law cases and personal injuries cases and has an excellent success rate, in addition to dealing with all matters concerning the sale, purchase and lease of property

Siobhán Daly B.A. Dip. Prop. Tax,  L.L.M. Solicitor

Siobhán studied at the University of Limerick and graduated with a B.A. in European Studies (Law).  She completed her Law Society professional course in Blackhall Place and qualified as a Solicitor in 1993.  Since then she graduated with an LLM from University College Cork in 2002.  Siobhán has a particular interest in constitutional and human rights and completed her LLM thesis on the topic of the human rights of the intellectually disabled person.  Siobhán has a solid grounding in the principle work load of general practice such as conveyancing and probate.  She has also completed the foundation course in Collaborative Law and has in interest in renewable energy, particularly the development of Wind farms. She has a large, active litigation case load, including child abuse, medical negligence, and constitutional law cases as well as personal injuries cases.  Siobhán attends the Kinsale District Court twice monthly.   Siobhán has been appointed by the Supreme Court as a Notary Public and practices as such in the Cork and Kinsale office.

Eimear Coughlan  B.C.L., Solicitor

Eimear obtained her BCL in UCC in  2004 and qualified as a solicitor in July 2008 having completed her traineeship with the firm.  Eimear is presently studying for the Associateship of Irish Taxation (AITI) qualification with the Irish Taxation Institute.  Eimear is an invaluable addition to the firm and is actively involved in all areas of the practice.  In particular Eimear specialises in advising in all areas regarding tax – Probate is one such area where an in depth knowledge of the ever changing tax code is essential.  In keeping with the firms tradition that all solicitors should have a good knowledge of all areas of law Eimear also advises in litigation matters and conveyancing.  Eimear has taken over a number of the firm’s debt collection files, as well as matters dealing with employment law and licensing matters.

Administrative Staff

Peter Folley B.A. Legal Executive

Peter joined the practice in 1999 and subsequently qualified as a Legal Executive.  He has completed a course in Polish for lawyers and has an excellent knowledge of Irish.

Peter is based in our Cork office.

Lorraine Dwyer

Lorraine rejoined the firm in 2009 having previously worked in both offices in 2005.  She has extensive and varied administrative and organisational experience and skills and has assumed the role of office manager.

Lorraine is based in the Kinsale office.

A word about our founder

George F. Daly B.A. M.Econ.Sc Obit 13th June 1982

George Daly was a barrister before he qualified as a solicitor.  He brought to the practice expertise in the areas of labour relations and Court room advocacy.   He lectured for a number of years in UCC and also worked in Geneva with the International Labour Organisation.  His integrity and his commitment to his clients have had a lasting impact on the practice.    He held a Masters degree in Economic Science.
